The Extremely successful Jordan Brand shoe collection just nudged into a new retail space: Soccer. In late May, it was announced that Neymar will be partnering with Jordan brand, wearing a Jumpman endorsed boot. The boot will feature Jordan’s number 23 on one side and Neymar’s number 10 on the other.
Already a fan of the Jordan sneaker line, I think this boot is gorgeous and is exactly what I would expect from a Jordan Brand soccer shoe. I think it’s going to be very interesting to see how well it does in terms of sales. I wonder if the brand will translate well into soccer and further endorsements are announced or if this is just a one-time deal. I’m sure if the shoe is successful, the brand will continue to move forward into the realm of soccer. In my opinion, Neymar is the perfect endorser of the brand, as he is undoubtedly one of the best players in the world and his flair and boastful attitude is reminiscent of a young MJ.
As most fans already know, Barcelona gave Neymar the choice of playing in either the Copa America or the Olympics, but not both. He chose the Olympics, so be on the lookout for the new boots in action come August.
